At this event we will be raising funds for the Orphans of Yemen and also for the Medical Aid project, the most important things is that we are going to highlight the situation in Yemen by listening to our eyewitness guest speakers whom they just returned from Yemen.

With the situation in Yemen, we need your help by purchasing tickets for the charity dinner, donate money or at the very least invite your friends to the event.

ORPHANS OF YEMEN

The suffering of children is one of the most difficult things to witness. Especially vulnerable to the effects of poverty and conflict, children are the hardest hit when faced with challenges that even adults would find difficult to cope with. The escalation of conflict in Yemen resulted in many civilian deaths leaving countless children parentless. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: “I and the caretaker of the orphan will enter Paradise together like this, raising (by way of illustration) his forefinger and middle finger jointly, leaving no space in between.” [Saheeh al-Bukhaari]. During these times of extreme difficulties, we work hard to support and help the needy children who have lost their parents by providing medical and financial care to as many of orphans as we possibly can.

MEDICAL AID PROJECT

It is said more than 17.8 million people have no access to clean sanitation and safe drinking water. Waterborne diseases have arisen from filthy alternative drinking water that has affected the safety of hundreds of thousands of people and last year alone, over one million Yemenis suffered from cholera. Although the numbers began to reduce since the outbreak started, recently the suspected cases of cholera nearly doubled since March 2019. The spread of disease has been harnessed by warfare and weather which has created the perfect conditions for illnesses like cholera to spread. It is the fast-spreading of avoidable diseases that is wreaking havoc in the country. This is made worse when hospitals that are able to cure the diseases have been completely devasted as a result of the ongoing conflict. The situation is classed as an epidemic and the country has been placed on red alert. Almost 3000 deaths associated with cholera has been the result of the epidemic. The most disheartening reality is that children are responsible for the majority of deaths, a staggering one-third of cases are those under the age of 5. The need for a substantially large amount of medical staff and aid has increased to defeat the epidemic and other diseases in the country.

SHOULD WE HELP?

It should be compulsory that we as humans love for others what we love for ourselves. To watch an entire country suffer this harshly and for us to do nothing as a global community is unacceptable. Therefore, we at Saba Relief work hard to solve the problems faced by the poor and needy in Yemen. We aim to give hope, life and happiness to a country that has been and still is suffering such unbearable extremities. However, we cannot do this without your help and support through your generous donations.

HELPING THE NEEDY THROUGH COLLECTIVE SMILES

Rather than just asking for your donation, we chose to gather donations through a social event, where families can enjoy a night out with their loved ones and have a good time whilst supporting those in need in Yemen. SABA Relief proudly presents this year’s charity dinner which will be hosted on Saturday the 21st of December 2019 at Regents Park Banqueting Hall between 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM. A selection of great talents and learned scholars will be there to entertain, remind and bring smiles to the guests and families of this event. We believe helping the needy can also be fun, interactive and entertaining whilst serving a good cause.
